New Help Center for Ubuntu

We’ve been working on a better way to present help to users for the next version of Ubuntu. The result has now been uploaded to Feisty (click for the larger screenshot):

Ubuntu Help Center

We still need to tweak the look of it, but now is a great time to check out the documentation we have for Feisty, file bugs and send comments to the mailing list, and even start contributing!

See our wiki page for how to contribute.

While you’re at it, there’s 5 occurences of “Ubuntu”. A bit too much, no ?

The new topci categories is a good idea.

    Thanks for your work.

I second this… after reading Emmanuel’s comment I cant help but look at the screenshot and see Ubunut plastered on everything… Maybe it is a bit much.

I’d written about this and other new features ages ago.

Thanks to those who have commented noting the excessive number of instances of “Ubuntu”. I’ve filed a bug about it here: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/yelp/+bug/84853

Anirudh – your site isn’t working so I can’t tell, but it’s unlikely that you considered this particular feature “ages ago” – it was uploaded a day before this blog post ;)

weeber – this post is just about one particular feature, the stability of Feisty seems pretty good to me, but I’m not responsible for that!

To those complaining about the excessive use of “Ubuntu”: Intentionally or not, it’s actually a quite clever marketing trick.

Very good – but what is the address for the Ubuntu Help Center? I don’t see it on the page and Google didn’t help either.

i believe the help center is “located” on your computer. and the links from within go out to the internet

Ubuntu is getting better everyday, I’m using feisty with daily updates, and I’m truly loving it. Windows is long gone and I surely recommend it to everyone!

Why does this have the distinct resemblance to the “Help and Support Center” in Windows XP?
